Toilet is a place that is used on a regular basis. Because it is used so often, it tends to clog and needs to be constantly serviced. The most common toilet issues that most of the owners face is clogging. But there are many other issues as well about which home owners might not even be aware of.
The following are a few toilet plumbing issues which only a professional plumber in NYC can fix-
Problem 1- Phantom flushes
Water getting refilled on its own is a problem that plumbers call a phantom flush. This problem occurs because of a bad flapper or flapper seat. Plumber will drain the accumulated water in the tank and bowl, inspect and clean the flapper seat, and replace the flapper, if it has been worn-out or damaged.
Problem 2- Water dripping into the tank
A hissing sound from the toilet is because of the water trickling into the tank through the inlet valve. Plumber will first inspect the float and make adjustments accordingly. After inspecting the float, the plumber will check the refill tube. The tube should not be inserted too far into the overflow tube.
Problem 3: Weak flush
Weak flush or emptying of bowl flow is due to the clogged holes underneath the rim of the bowl. To fix this problem, plumber will use a curved piece of wire and gently insert into each flush hole to clear out all the accumulated debris.
Problem 4: Clogged drain
This is the most common toilet problem. There are several tools for clearing a clogged drain, but plumbers commonly use a force-cup plunger to fix the issue. This is quite an effective method to clear minor clogs. However, for major clogs, a closet auger is used.
Problem 5: Slow filling tank
Slow filling of tank is because of partially closed valve under the tank. A plumber will simply move the valve to provide better water flow in the tank.

It does look a lot better now - it's surprising how much of a difference a new coat of paint can make! That's a lovely looking shower area. I very much like the little step that catches the water at the edge of the shower, it makes is almost like a wet room.
